American Beauty VIII

Well, this is a fine little plant from the Rockies: Telesonix jamesii. Sometimes it is called James' saxifrage but it has no other common English name, as far as I know.

It is endemic to Colorado, so I want to dedicate this picture to , therefore. Maybe you've already found it in the wild, Edie?

As a plant from the mountains, it likes to live in a rock garden. It is not difficult to grow here but it increases quite slowly. There is another species from Wyoming and Montana, Telesonix heucheriformis. I consider Telesonix jamesii to be the prettier one, however.
